Memorial Day in St. George

For Memorial Day we decided to get out of town to St. George. We were there Sunday to Monday.
Our first stop was to the temple.

It was a very cloudy day, so I photoshopped a sky into this one.
Next we went to Pioneer Park, which is by far the kids favorite thing to do in St. George. They could hang out here for hours. It really stresses Jared out....he does not like heights and he is scared the whole time that one of the kids are going to fall to their deaths. Addie and Devin don't help matters much...they run around like crazy and climb those boulders like there is no tomorrow.

We checked into out hotel and the kids went swimming.

After swimming we went to eat...there is not a lot open on Sunday so we ended up eating at Chuck-A-Rama. I was pleasantly surprised...they had steak and it was really good. And they had a chocolate fountain that the kids LOVED.
After dinner we went downtown. It was still light outside and Jared and the kids played baseball. We had the park to ourselves. Such a perfect end to a perfect day.
Monday morning after breakfast, the kids went swimming one more time before checkout. After that we went to ride the carousel and visit Judd's (a little general store that sells old time candy and soda).

I don't even know what to say about this...all Jared's idea.
Devin eating an atomic fireball and trying not to cry.
In the tabernacle.
We walked to Brigham Young's home. Then we ate lunch at The Pizza Factory.
I've been hearing for a while how good the cupcakes are at 25 Main so we tried it. My raspberry vanilla cupcake was amazing.
Jared let the kids play at the park while I did a little shopping. Then we left. It was such a fun little getaway. We can't wait to get back!

Summer Countdown and Bucket List

We are ALL so excited for summer. It will be nice to have a break from waking up early, homework and feeling busy all the time. I love countdowns, so here is a little countdown I made. Each day someone gets to punch out the paper and they all get a treat.

We've already made our summer bucket list...here are just a few things we want to do!
We have 6 more days!

The latest Shenanigans

I celebrated a birthday! Jared knows me so well--He found a babysitter and took me out to dinner.  He also bought me my favorite cake which we ate with friends. And he bought me a new lens! It was a great birthday!

We also celebrated our 14th anniversary (the day after mothers day)!

I got pretty sick this month. Normally when I get sick I am better in a day. I actually haven't been to the doctor in about 4 years. I had to go to the urgent care and I had strep throat...it really kicked my butt. I'm glad no one else got it.

Teacher Appreciation Week. I didn't get pictures of everything we did because I was sick. But I tried to do something every day.
Day 1--I got them their favorite drink and treat.
Day 2--Hand Soap
Day 3

The last day I sent them a little thank you with a gift card to their favorite store. Even though these teachers weren't really my favorites I appreciate all they have done. Teaching is hard work--it is nice to feel appreciated.
A little gift for my visiting teaching companion

Some of Lyla in the studio

Went to a new restaurant on the strip and found this on our way back to the car.

This was at out community summer party. All three kids were most excited about the mechanical bull.
