Summer Bucket List

It looks like we didn't get to about 1/2 of the things on our summer bucket list, but that is all good...we've had a fun, busy summer.
School started this week!
Here are just a few projects and things we did the last month of summer.
Painters tape Art
This was after Adalynn painted but before we took the tape off.

All finished
Lyla made one too
 We did a bean mosaic

We made galaxy slime

We played with shaving cream and food coloring

The girls played a little dress up

And we all played with the puppy a ton.

It was a good summer.

Pina Colada Cupcakes

I made these the other day and they were so cute I had to take some pictures. They also tasted really good--I love pineapple and coconut!

Meet our new puppy Sadie!
I love dogs! I've always been an animal lover. I've wanted a dog for a while but Jared has been adamant about not having a dog. We both didn't want an inside dog (which is tricky in Vegas). After Christmas and seeing how happy the kids were with my parent's new puppy we decided to start looking. I saw that my aunt's dog had puppies and we talked and made the decision to bring one home. My awesome aunt gave a great deal which really helped make our decision. We drove down to AZ Friday and picked her up. Then we spent Saturday with my family.

Choosing her name was tough. Devin and Jared wanted Russell Wilson, but I wasn't about to name my girl dog Russell. The kids just started calling her Sadie and they all agreed, so Sadie it is.

Not related to the dog, but I raided the garden right before coming home. Even though we were only there for a day, we had a nice time. Us girls got pedicures, and we went out for pizza and bowling after that.
Oh Arizona! You really are beautiful!
She is really cute! She is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (I is a mouthful).
I am learning how much work puppies are! I potty trained my kids in 3 days so the thought of having to work with her for months makes me nauseous. I keep her in a kennel when we are gone or when we can't watch her. We are also working on biting...she has really sharp teeth and like a baby, she likes to bite and chew on everything including our hands. I squirt her in the face with a squirt bottle when she bites hard...have no idea if it is working or not, but everyone says as long as we are consistent she will learn.

Our favorite thing about her....her ears!

The kids really do adore her and will hardly put her down.

If anyone has ANY advice at all lets hear it! I really don't know what I am doing here!

Adalynn's Birthday Party

Adalynn asked me for a birthday party a month before her birthday. I had no idea what to do. It is so hot in July and I didn't really want to do a swim party (or spend a lot of money). We decided on a date, and a week before her party I started planning. It was dinner and a movie which was prefect because it was so easy!

We decorated a little. I've been seeing people use tablecloths instead of streamers to decorate the ceiling. It was really easy and looked pretty cool.

Addie really wanted a concession stand for the movie.

I have each kid 8 tickets and they could buy whatever they wanted. The kids seemed to love it and I liked that it put a limit to how much junk they ate.
This is the movie she chose.
Tashina picked these up for me at the movie theater. It was nice because it held all the kids snacks, popcorn and drinks without too many spills.

Amy came over earlier and helped me make the cupcakes (thank goodness--it took a lot longer to make these than I would have thought).

Most of the kids. We moved our TV into the front room because there is more room in there. We brought down the lovesac and added an extra couch.
Group shot.
Right before the party I took some pics of Addie in the studio.

It was a fun little party, and like I said, it was so easy. I'm sure grateful she has so many nice, good friends. It really is a blessing that my children are surrounded by these kids!
