Moving Day

Last and First

Devin's last day of school at Schorr Elementary was Thursday. I have been stressing out for months about moving and Devin's school was one of the main reasons. First of all we have seen some amazing progress. He is quite the chatterbox and continues to make progress every day. I seriously owe it all to his amazing teacher. She is the cutest teacher ever--I know how hard teaching is and somehow she managed to do it with ten preschoolers and make it super fun. Really, Devin constantly came home with the coolest projects and art work. She made things like banana bread and lemonade and cookies with the class. She planned parent involvement days. The list goes on and on. I'm so happy that she let me be involved and updated me frequently about how he was doing. I love that she made learning exciting and hands on. I could tell that she really cared about him and was excited about his accomplishments. I am so thankful to her for that. He loved going to school every day. He loved his friends. He loved her.

This is Mrs. De Motte and Devin on his last day.
This was his little friend Layne.

Devin's first day of school at his new school was Monday. The bus normally comes to our house--like literally to our front door to pick him up (I know. I am totally spoiled). But the buses weren't quite worked out so we walked. It is about a 10 minute walk and the kids loved every minute. Isn't it funny how the smallest thing out of the ordinary gets kids so excited? I took Devin to his new class and he surprised me and did just fine. He sat right down and started playing with some blocks. Phew. All that worrying and stress for nothing. I hope he continues to like it and make progress.

Our new house

I finally remembered my camera so here are a few pictures of our new home. We haven't moved in yet--Jared takes a load of stuff up every day and we will move everything else this Saturday. This whole thing is exciting, but a little bitter sweet for me. I love Henderson and the area we are in now. I am so sad to leave our ward and the friends we have here, but we are excited to start this new chapter of our lives. And it will be so nice to live closer to Jared's work.

We found a great deal on a newer 5 bedroom, three bath house. We looked at some amazing houses--and put offers on quite a few. This house was not my favorite, but Jared and I both agree it is a great first home. It isn't fancy, but it has a lot of things we liked.
And I am a dork and forgot to take a picture of the front of the house. But it is a typical Vegas front yard--so a teeny, tiny, yard and desert landscaping. The neighborhood is really nice though, and there are 2 really fun parks within walking distance so we are excited about that.

Family Room

Downstairs Bedroom.
The bedrooms are really small. So it is nice there are 5 of them.

Laundry Room

There is also a full bath downstairs and that is pretty much the downstairs.

Then there is the upstairs, which has the rest of the bedrooms and two bathrooms.
I guess I forgot to take a picture of the master bedroom but unlike the other rooms it is a nice size.
Master Bath

The backyard. Good thing my kids LOVE rocks because there are about a million of them. Haha. Jared and I really want to put some grass in, but that will probably have to wait until next year.

So there it is. It is all very exciting and a bit overwhelming.

Valentines Day

Thank you Mom for the cute little package. The kids loved it!
Just a few pictures I took Sunday Morning

Jared made us breakfast

We did the usual sugar cookies and I made cake pops for my primary class.

I love you Jared, Devin and Addie.

Valentines Day Part 1

I had so many things planned for Valentines Day this year, but since half of our stuff is packed away I am only doing a few things.
I made this wreath a few weeks ago---
I did this last year, and Devin enjoyed it. Devin and Addie each have a mailbox and get something small every day. They just love it. I think once they are older it would be cute to have them leave each other little gifts and notes.

I'm sorry, but I think these hearts are just nasty. Adalynn will eat them, Devin will tolerate them. Since I bought a big bag of them, I decided to use some to make these with Devin...

Devin's class had a Valentines party today. It was so cute watching them pass out all of their valentines and decorate their cookies.

I still want to make sugar cookies with the kids and I have some more food things planned for this weekend. So stay tuned for part 2...

Last Weekend

I know, I know, I need to blog about our new house! But I have been mucho busy lately. Plus every time I make the drive to the house, I forget my camera. But we will be there this weekend, so I'll blog about it soon. Anyways, here is what we have been up to...

I babysit now--just once a week for a few hours for an attorney at Jared's firm. She is the best baby and Adalynn and Devin love her.

Jared's Dad and Kristi came for a quick visit. I didn't take one picture!! Which is not like me at all. But we had a great time eating out here...
Kristi and I had a blast shopping here, which is such a fun place to find home decor stuff at a good price...
We watched the super bowl on Sunday and this little moment was one of my favorites...

After the game, Dad and Kristi left for LA and this week has been busy packing and cleaning.
