Thanksgiving Decor

Phew. I am glad Halloween is over. After a school party, school carnival, work party, trunk-or-treat, and actual Halloween, I think I am done! The kids sure had fun--and have been gobbling down their candy the whole weekend.

Anyways, Saturday was our ward Trunk-or-treat. It was a lot of fun. It was set up like a carnival--they had corn dogs, nachos, and churros. And people brought pies for a pie tasting contest. They had quite a few fun games set up and I even got my hay ride. They also had a haunted house that scared the heck out of Devin (even though later he told us "I not scared of anything!") After the carnival they did the trunk-or-treat. There were a lot of people--and the kids got a ton of candy.
At the last minute Devin decided he wanted to go as Batman (his costumes last year).

We were pretty laid back on Sunday. We took the kids on a quick trip around the neighborhood because Devin really wanted to knock on some doors. They just loved seeing all the other kids in their costumes and seeing all the houses that were decorated. After we got home, we just handed out candy to the trick-or-treaters. And we watched Ernest Scared Stupid.

Devin's Room and Party

Devin has been asking to decorate his room for Halloween, gosh, since they started bringing out all the Halloween stuff in the stores. Here is what I ended up doing--super easy, and he just thinks it is so cool that his room is all ready for Halloween.

Today Devin had his school party. I volunteered to bring in a snack and help out and this is what Devin suggested we bring.

I went to help with his class party--but really just ended up watching Adalynn. She kept herself entertained with the puzzles--It was fun seeing Devin in the classroom setting. He is so shy! But maybe it was because I was there. They sang some cute songs, and played a few games, then the whole school had a Halloween parade. Devin liked looking at all the other costumes (Mario being his favorite). Then they came back into the classroom and ate a ton of sweets. I'm glad I was able to be a part of it.

A few pictures...

(And am I the only one that thought it was creepy that one of the kids was dressed up like Jason?! )

Pumpkin Carving

Last night we carved a pumpkin.

It was pretty much a repeat of last year, where Adalynn loved it and helped clean the entire thing...

And Devin thought it was disgusting and, I think, almost threw up he was so grossed out.

Ah memories.

Pumpkin Patch

Last night Jared and I took the kids to a pretend pumpkin patch. I'm not gonna lie--I have a little pumpkin patch envy when I look at friend's blogs and see that they went to an ACTUAL pumpkin patch--hay ride and all. Sigh. Maybe one day.
But the kids still love it. I took quite a few pictures, but most were pretty bad since it was so dark. They had a bounce house, petting zoo, blow up slide, bucket ride, and a few games.

Devin loved everything!
Addie only loved the petting zoo.

Decorating with Vinyl

In the Family Room...

In the Kitchen...
And in the laundry room
(Random, but the laundry room is like my favorite room in our house right now...I have a few more things to do, then I'll show you)

And these don't have vinyl on them, but pumpkins just make me smile. I could decorate with them all year and it would never get old

Halloween Cookies

Steph invited us over Friday for some good 'ol Halloween sugar cookie decorating.
And who says you cant have heart shaped Halloween Sugar cookies?

Our house has a lot of wall space--and I have a bit obsessed with these subway art things, so I found a large frame at DI for $2, spray painted it and am printing this at costco as a 20 x 30 for 6.99. Not bad for under $10!
I am going to have to trim most of the black border off--my frame is smaller than a 20 x 30 but larger than a 16 x 20.

Halloween Day 5

Tonight we are having soup in a pumpkin shaped bread bowl. I really, really stink at bread making and somehow I didn't screw these up. Not sure how they taste yet, but the soup I am making is delish so worst case scenario, I'll just eat the soup.

Halloween Day 4

Saturday we made caramel apples. I love Fall food!
If you look really close, you can see my reflection in the caramel.

This is our next door neighbor, and Devin's friend Ian.
