San Diego Zoo--Day 5

The last day (well, it wasn't really the last day. Monday night we stayed in Riverside and Jared interviewed with a judge Tuesday morning) we went to the San Diego Zoo. Which is a pretty fabulous zoo, I must say. I took a lot of pictures of the animals, but I wont bore you with those.

I read this sign and thought, "Hmmm....could this better describe Devin?" No, it really couldn't. We might just have to start calling Devin Mandazzi.
You know how when you take your kids to something really fun and you are so excited and think "They are gonna LOVE this!!!!" Devin didn't really seem to care all that much. There were a few animals he was excited about and his mood definitely improved by the end of the day. But for sure the highlight of the day was buying him the cotton candy. Addie even tried a little. I guess my point is, we could have saved a bunch of money and just bought them cotton candy. (Jared and I still had a great time).

I am so glad we were able to go on this little vacation as a family. This has been a rough semester. Jared has a night class two nights a week and I have class Thursday night, so most weeks we don't even see each other until Friday night. We miss him. And the next four months aren't going to be any better. Finals is just around the corner and then it is time to study and take the bar. Oh and he still works part time and will this summer. I love him for working so hard. But I'm not gonna lie some days I feel like I might have a nervous breakdown or something. And then I feel really sad that he is gone so much and is missing out on so much. So this trip gave us some awesome time together as a family.

Flashback Friday

Whenever we tell people that Jared taught Gladys Knight on his mission, they think we are joking around. But we have a picture to prove it. By the time Jared started teaching her she was already familiar with the church (Her son and daughter were already members) but they went through all the discussions and were there when she was baptized (this picture was taken at her baptism). Jared also went through the temple with her a year later. I really should have Jared write this post---maybe when he gets home I will have him add to it.

San Diego--Day 4

I told you I took a ton of pictures. Anyways, we were planning on coming home today. But Jared had an interview with a judge in Riverside, CA on Tuesday. So we decided to add a few days and come home Tuesday after the interview instead of coming home Sunday. I'm glad we did. It gave us a few more days to spend with Jared and San Diego is awesome. My family came here a lot for family vacations--which we always loved.

Today we went to see the San Diego temple (one of my favorites). We also went to the beach, but it was freeeezing, so left quickly.

I have one more day to blog about, but Devin is beating up Adalynn. Better go save her.

Santa Monica Pier/LA Temple--Day 3

Today we drove to the LA Temple. It was a beautiful temple and the grounds were awesome.

We spent a few hours at the pier. Devin had so much fun.

It was pretty cold today, but Devin had a blast playing at the beach.

California Adventure--Day 2

We spent most of Day 2 at CA Adventure (we had the park hopper tickets). It was fabulous--hardly any time in lines and a lot for little kiddos. We did everything we could do by about 1:00 so we went over to Disneyland to do a few more things and came back for the Pixar parade.

Disneyland Day 1

For Jared's spring break we decided to go to California. We had way too much fun. We spent the first day at Disneyland and tried to do as much as possible. Actually--looking back, I am surprised that we did as much as we did. It was a good day to go--it was nice weather and not too crowded. Devin seemed to enjoy it. He loved the Buzz Lightyear ride (we rode that about 5 times). He hated splash mountain (I wish, wish, wish we had just bought the picture they try and sell you--Devin looked absolutely terrified)

I took way too many pictures--here are a few from Day 1.

At the entrance
Yeah, I have about a hundred pictures of this smile. Sheesh! Riding the Buzz Lightyear ride...he loved it. Addie? Not so much. He also really liked the Autopia ride. Lots of bonding time with Adalynn while Jared took Devin on a ride. Meeting the gang. And not too impressed. (Well Jared looks happy).
It was a fun and busy day. Devin was so incredibly tired by the end of the day.

Happy St. Patricks Day

A little St. Patricks Day pudding . I had a ton of festive things planned for the day, but since we are leaving for California tomorrow (and in an effort to save money) I decided they would have to wait until next year. Hope everyone had a fantastic day!

94%

I have used 94% of my picture storage, and because I don't want to pay for more storage I am setting up another Picasa account to post pictures. Here is the link. And if you click on our new family photo (to the right) you can get there that way also. I am keeping my old account and albums, but won't be adding pictures to them. Just thought I would let the 3 people that look at out pictures know.

Jennifer

My sister Jen was here this last weekend. My sister is FUN. And HILARIOUS. And CREATIVE. And so fun to talk to. And I could go on and on. But she has to be one of my most favorite people in the whole world so of course I was excited! And Jared has been gone just abut every day/night studying for and taking the MPRE (which he took Saturday) so I was happy to have her here for some company.

Here are just a few things we did this weekend.

We visited the temple on Friday. Jen did baptisms. I walked around the temple with the kids. It was a beautiful day and I realized I really wanted to go to the temple more. Now that Adalynn is eating solids it will be easier to leave her with someone (because there is no way in heck she is taking a bottle).

Friday night we got some dinner, and went to the Bellagio to visit the conservatory, get a snack, and watch a water show.

We mainly just hung out on Saturday. We had a "pop picnic" and went to Jared's softball games. Jared probably loved it--she was all excited and cheering and trash talking the other team. I am not as vocal.
We had stake conference on Sunday. Jen made the yummiest mango curry pork chops for dinner. The kids really seem to love her. Even Adalynn--who is going through some major stranger anxiety and only wants her momma. She left to go home this morning. And I am already missing her and having someone to talk to.
