It Won't Be Long

Some of these posts are mainly for myself. I am pretty darn good at keeping a journal for Devin and Adalynn (I try and write in it at least twice a month) but I suck at keeping one for myself. One of these days I might look into turning this blog into a book, so I like to document things that are exciting for me, but probably boring for the rest of you. :)

Anyways, Adalynn is getting up on all fours. It seems like Devin did that right before he started crawling, so I am thinking it isn't going to be long before she is officially crawling.

And this is something I just finished. I wanted a cute little board to put all her clippies and flowers so I took an old picture frame, painted it and covered the back with material. I think it is cute but I know I am going to run out of room--it works for now. I have one in Devin's room with pictures of family and Jesus. It is cute, cheap, and easy.

ma ma ma ma

Adalynn got her shots yesterday and has been GRUMPY. She has a fever and has been so irritable. Don't you hate how doing something good for your baby makes them miserable? This is what she does when she isn't feeling well--I know she doesn't mean it, but it is still fun to hear mama.

Really? 6 months? Already?

Just in case you were wondering, Miss Addie weighs 16 pounds 4 ounces (75%) and is 27 inches long (90%). The doctor was impressed by her recent accomplishments--he didn't believe me when I told him she could sit by herself and was army crawling, so we proved it to him. Anyways, she is fit as a fiddle!

I tried to get her picture at the park since it was so nice out and overcast, but she was in a bad mood.

Just for Fun

Army Crawling

Adalynn might as well be crawling, she gets around the place well enough. She is mastering the army crawl, and combined with her rolling, nothing is stopping her. This is the first time uploading a video. It takes forever, and the quality stinks, but enjoy.

I heart old

Lately I have been loving anything antique. Clothing, furniture, picture frames, etc. etc. When I was home in AZ my mom gave me a ton of my old dresses and even some of her old dresses and bonnets. I'm not going to lie--they are darling. I can't wait to put them on Adalynn. And I finally learned how to make photos look super old in photoshop. Here are just a few I have been playing around with...

Sitting up

Just documenting the fact that this little chica is sitting up pretty darn well these days.
Today I timed her and she sat by herself, without tipping over, for a good 5 minutes.
Go Addie, Go Addie, Go, Go, Go Addie. (I know, I am a dork)

What a hunk!

Readers of this blog know that Jared loves softball. Maybe even more than his own children (Depending on the day of course) :) When we were deciding where to go to law school a major selling point for Vegas was the fact that he could play year round here. He plays every Saturday, and it is the highlight of his week. I have no idea why---he always comes home looking like he was in battle. And he can never walk the next day. But whatever.
(Devin watching the game)
Here is the latest battle wound. To make a long story short, Jared caught a ball in the outfield then ran/fell into the fence which took a big chunk out of his tooth. He was totally out of it right after it happened but was thankfully o.k. He looked like a redneck the entire weekend.
(Before he had it fixed)He had it fixed yesterday. I was surprised at how quickly they fixed it and how normal it looks. And this dentist is so nice--he never charges full price because he knows we have are poor students with no insurance. What a guy!

I wonder what it would take for Jared to give it all up?

Oh my heart! Yesterday was Devin's first Sunday as a Sunbeam (not a good day) and today was his first day of preschool. Usually the little bus will come and pick him up, but I wanted to take him and meet his teacher. He was very excited to go, until we got there and realized I wouldn't be staying with him. Then he broke down and started crying and shouting for me. I am such a baby--I left all upset. And I missed him the entire time.

When I picked him up the teacher told me he did great, which makes me feel a lot better. I took a few pictures as we left. He wouldn't look at me at first--but then gave me one of his famous cheesy grins.
And then because I wanted to smooth things over we hit up the 7-11 for a slurpie and doughnut.
Everything is all better now. At least until tomorrow.
