Photo Challenge--Day 54-60

Sooo....The entire week I was in Arizona, I decided to only take pictures of flowers/nature for my photo challenge. Partly because I feel like I take the same pictures every time I visit (Devin with the animals for example) and also because they looked so pretty. Probably not the most exciting photos, but I had fun practicing.

Here is the bad news...the last day we were visiting, Devin broke my camera. Argggggg. Actually, he broke the lens. Which is why, when the man at Ritz camera told me the warranty would cover anything a 2 year old could do to the camera, I was sold. Anyways, I took it to have it fixed and it may take up to 6 weeks to get it back. I am sad that I wont have a camera for a while and very nervous that I won't have it back before the baby comes. I was very dramatic and told him "I will DIE if I don't have my camera by the time I have my baby." He was like Calm down lady. But I do have our old camera and knowing me I will be late and 6 weeks will be plenty of time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed though.

Arizona Trip

Devin and I are back from Arizona. I thought it would be nice to visit the fam one more time before I have this baby and you just can't beat a 45 minute plane ride (and they were ding tickets, so who hoo). This time was especially great because I saw all my siblings, which hasn't happened for a while and won't happen again for 2 years. Like always, Devin had a blast. We basically do the same thing every time we visit, and I take the same pictures, so you might experience a little de ja vu.

Yes, we went to Dairy Queen just about every day.
One of the days we went to the river to cool off. It is so funny that a couple months ago I felt huge.
Yowza....Look at me now folks....Ah! And I still have about 6 weeks to go. Devin was quite fascinated with this tree creature.
He loved it when the goats took a little nibble from his shirt. Even though he he would tell them "Doh, Doh" (No, No).
And James took him shooting with the paint ball gun just about every day which was a personal favorite of Devin's.
Pulling his first was very funny watching my Dad tense up as Devin almost trampled some of his corn. My Dad loves his corn plants. It was a nice visit, although I was extremely exhausted the entire time.. It was weird for me because I never felt this tired in either pregnancy. And the baby is pinching some major nerves. And giving me heartburn. So I am counting down the days until she comes. I already asked my doctor if she would induce a week early, and she agreed as long as everything is looking alright. We will see what happens.

Devin's Latest Obsession

About a month ago Devin saw the preview for the movie Wall E. And he went crazy. He started jumping up and down and pointing to the TV and was basically just super duper excited!! Who knew? But we have been feeding that obsession and using it to our advantage the past few weeks. I let him watch the previews on our computer, in Arizona we found him some action figures, and to welcome us home last night Jared bought him a Wall E figure. And like I said, anytime he doesn't listen to me I threaten to throw one of those little action figures away and it works like magic (I know, I am a jerk). Anyways, it comes out this Saturday so we keep telling him that he gets to go and he couldn't be happier.

Just to one of the previews Wall E puts a bra over his face, so I am guessing that is what he is doing in in this picture.

Our New Place

I have had quite a few people ask to send pictures of the house we are renting, so I figured it would be easier to post them here. We have lived here 2 weeks and I am really liking it. I feel like we are finally done unpacking and things are starting to come together. I need to still hang up pictures and go through the garage and after that is done I think I will start sprucing up the back yard (I basically want to get some outdoor toys for Devin--maybe a little pool and something to give us some shade). But so far, so good.

The next three pics are Devin's room. Some good news...Devin has been sleeping in his bed every night, no problems. It has been wonderful. Oh, and his room is never this clean. I had to take the pictures right after I cleaned it and made the bed.
This is the baby's room--I am still looking for some things to put up on the wall and over the crib.
We have 2 1/2 bathrooms. This is the guest/Devin's bathroom. I really like the whole jungle theme.
The living room.
Kitchen--The walls are painted a pretty yellow (the picture makes the walls look a little green, but they are yellow, which I really like).
Our bedroom--pretty boring, right?
There you go. Devin and I are leaving for AZ tomorrow. So I need to pack which means I need to do some laundry first. Bye!!

Picture Challenge--Day 52 & 53

Oh, to be that flexible.

"A New Favorite"

I can't tell you how many people I know love this show. We had never seen it--probably because we have way too many shows on Thursday already. Since there seems to be nothing on TV over the summer we have started renting the first season (how many seasons are there, by-the-way?) and we both really like it! So, come Fall we are going to have yet another show to add to our list.

Picture Challenge--Day 47, 48, 49, 50 & 51

We are still unpacking. It seems to take so long figuring our where to put everything. And there are always those boxes that you just ignore--you know the ones. Things you hardly ever use, and never have a real place, but you still hold on to them for some reason. That is one nice thing about a garage...any box I don't want to deal with ends up there. Sadly, this means our 2 car garage now only fits one car. Oh well.

"Movies on the lawn"
First of all, Devin looks like such a bum today. He really needs a haircut--something we can get to tomorrow. Tonight we went to an outdoor showing of TMNT. I thought Devin would really enjoy watching a movie outside on a blanket. At first he was having a good time--they had free popcorn and there is a carousel which Jared took him on. Then the movie started and he just wouldn't sit still. My back was killing me and the movie was lame, so we left after about 30 minutes.
Today we attended our new ward for the first time. We showed up at 11:00 and found out that we didn't start until 1:00 so we came back home for a few hours. Going to a new ward is always a little weird. Everyone was super nice though. And doesn't Devin look cute in Jared's tie?

"Vanilla Spice Cupcakes with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting"Alright, these were so yummy! I can't remember where I found the recipe, but I have had been planning on making them for a while. Jared had scouts tonight and I like making treats when we can give most of them away (because I WILL eat them all if they are just sitting there). They were very moist and the frosting was yummy. They would be the best cupcake around Halloween or Thanksgiving...they had that cinnamon spice flavor that reminds me of the holidays.

I have been so bored this last week. It's not like I haven't had things to do, I just have to get out at least once a day or both Devin and I get restless. Which is why I took Devin to the outlet mall. They have this story time/free carousel ride every Wednesday so we did that.

Babies Room & Question

I must be getting excited to have this baby. Actually, I have been excited since I found out we were having another baby and when I found out it was a girl, whooo hooooo!. Devin and the baby will have their own rooms, which is so nice, especially since the rooms are pretty small and I can just picture them waking each other up all night long. I have been having a great time thinking about decorating her room. I started with the crib set. Her room was already painted a sage green, which I think is very cute for a girl's room. I found this crib set on Craigslist for $30--it was originally from Pottery Barn and I love all of their stuff, so I was super excited to find it. The lady also gave me an extra sheet, a ton of towels, burp clothes, and some changing pad covers. I love finding great deals! So her room is going to be lavender and green. Anyways, here are some pictures of the crib.

I should have ironed the sheet, but eh, oh well.
So here is the question part of the post. I have had this shelf for years and I have never put it up, but I just can't seem to give it to DI yet. I was thinking about painting it and putting it up in her room. Maybe white since the walls are green? But then, all white might be a little boring. Does anyone have any good ideas?

How to weigh yourself...

I saw this today and thought it was too funny. I think I will be weighing myself this way until I have my baby.

The Latest...

Devin has always been Mr. Adventure man. And unlike his delayed speech, which I worry about all the time, I have never worried about his physical development. Anyways, I know all parents think their kids are climbers, and I don't doubt that, but Devin really is a climber. If he wants to get somewhere, he will get there. I'm not exaggerating, name a place in our apartment and he has been on top of it. Lately he has become more adventurous and brave.

He will crawl onto the shelf in our closets. No problem.
Jared and I thought "I don't think he will be able to do that" because the foot holds were a little far apart.

Apparently, we were wrong. There was a much bigger and steeper one that he also crawled up later, but it was pretty dark so I didn't get any pictures.

He has had this thing mastered for months.

Yep, that is Mr. Devin for you.
