Picture Challenge--Day 39, 40, 41 & 42

It rained today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that made me very happy.

"Toys R Us"
I really slacked today and only took 2 pictures...both were not very good. So this was the better of the two. But we did a ton today. We painted most of the apartment, took Devin to the park, went to Costco, looked for a bed for Devin, and took Devin to Toys R Us, because, well, he loves it there.

This is our very small and pathetic barbecue grill. It gets the job done though. Sorry for all the lame pictures. We are moving and that has been so much work. It is almost over...Saturday we will be all moved in.

"Memorial Day Birthday Party"
Devin's friend Brian had a birthday party today. They rented a jump house and everyone really liked that. We then had lunch and a Scooby Doo birthday cake...yum. I took a ton of pictures, but this one just made me laugh.

Picture Challenge--Day 33, 34, 35, 36 & 37

Found this puzzle at DI. I love anything educational (must be the teacher in me). So I put it together--tried to get Devin to help, but he wasn't very interested.

Bad picture, I know. (I took this pic from our computer screen). It was hot today. And as you can see it was hot the next day. So happy that the temp drops on Wed and Thur.

"Great Harvest"
Today I went visiting teaching. It is that last time I will visit these ladies, so I went and bought them some bread from Great Harvest. They were giving free samples away and I tried the cherry chocolate--which was very yummy.

"Most dreaded bill"
It begins. Power bills here get so high. May wasn't too bad, but June, July and August are killers. It makes me miss our dinky Provo City Utilities bill which was never above $40.

We are moving to a house! We found this house for rent and since it is bigger than our apartment and cheaper, we decided to move. We are already moving things in, but won't start living there until June. I will of course take more pictures and post them later.

Ward Campout

Last weekend our ward had a campout, which we decided sounded like a lot of fun. It was about an hour outside of Vegas (north). Jared had finished his last final Wednesday and starts his internship Monday so it was a chance for us to spend some time together as a family--we left pretty early because we thought we could play around for a few hours before most of the people showed up. So we drove there, and to our surprise the "campout" was at the Moapa City Park...ummm...alright.
Our ward had actually reserved this area called Warm Springs, but they must have canceled on us last minute. So this was what they came up with. I was disappointed at first, because come on, it is a city park. We thought about coming home, but we stuck it out and I'm glad we did.

It was stinkin' hot, so we let Devin cool down at the water park first.

Then some friends showed up and the kids played on the playground.
There was a softball field there, so Jared was one happy guy. Devin "tried" to play as well, but he cracks me up because he puts the ball on the base then tries to hit it. I think he is mixing up baseball and golf.
We left pretty early on Saturday and after some rest we went swimming. I tell you Vegas is getting HOT. It is supposed to be 108 today and my pregnant self is really feeling it.

Picture Challenge--Day 28, 29, 30, 31, & 32

"Activity Day"
My calling is doing activity days with the 8-11 year old girls. It is such a fun calling and I only have to do it twice a month so it isn't too demanding. Today we had a mother/daughter tea party. Anytime our ward does anything, they go above and beyond. The food was fabulous, and we decorated outside with fresh flowers and cute teapots. It was a lot of fun. I was a little sad I only took pictures of the food-but I really had no time to sit and take pictures once everyone started showing up.

"Back from Europe"
Josh is back from Europe and brought us some fun presents! I collect salt and pepper shakers--so Josh found these in Paris and he also bought some from London. He got us little onesie for our baby. And if that wasn't enough, I sent him home with some material to make me a baby blanket and a valance. Thanks for spoiling us Josh!!

We installed photoshop on our computer today. Now I have to figure out how to use it.

"Ward Campout"
We went to out ward campout this weekend. They had it at a city park (I know, I will have to explain more about this later) and there was a little water park there. It was so stinking hot so we stripped Devin down to his diaper and let him play in the water.

Picture Challenge Day 26 & 27

"Happy Mothers Day"
I hope all you moms out there had a wonderful day. I had a great day--Jared made me a yummy breakfast and we were spoiled at church. I love being a mom--and I am so excited for our little girl to arrive.

"Clifford Game"
Yep, we went to the library again. I managed to get Devin on the computer this time instead of just looking at the movies.
I am realizing that my life is pretty routine--Devin and I do the same things throughout the week. So I am going to have to be creative and try not to take the same pictures of us doing the same things all the time.

Picture Challenge Day 25

Sunday (Mothers Day) Jared and I celebrated our 7th anniversary!!!! (we went out to dinner on Saturday to celebrate). Jokingly, Jared told me that "it has been the longest 7 years of my life" which made me laugh. But seriously, it has gone by quite fast. I hate to get all mushy, but I love Jared so much. He has so many great qualities--he is patient and kind. He is laid back (which works well since I am so up-tight). He has worked so hard to get his education so that he can provide for our family. He is always thinking about my feelings and what would make me happy. He is a great dad. I could go on--but I will leave it at that.
I am very excited for the next seven years!!

Picture Challenge--Day 22, 23 & 24

"Mr. Devin and Ms. Hannah"
These two have had quite the friendship...albeit forced. We had a couple of rough months where Devin really liked hitting Hannah for no apparent reason, but THANKFULLY that is over and Hannah hasn't held a grudge. Anyways, we went swimming today and afterwards they had some watermelon. Fun day.

"At the Pool"
Really, we have been to the pool about everyday this week. Devin seems to enjoy it more than last year.

"Happy Devin"
I have such a hard time getting a picture of him looking at the camera and smiling, so even though this isn't the best picture, I really like it.

Picture Challenge--Day 17-21

"Devin and Alyssa"
Friday night we met our friends Ben and Joann at the park for dinner and then we came to our house to watch the Jazz came and hang out. Devin just crawled up next to Alyssa and put his arm around her (I think he does very well around babies). She is so dang cute! It makes me super excited to have a girl.

"For Mom"
Today we participated in the Las Vegas Race for the cure. We love and miss you mom!

This is what we did today after church.

"Bottle Brush"
Today was a pretty boring picture day--and I didn't like any of the pictures I took. I tried to get some at my doctors office, but I felt like a weirdo taking pictures in the exam room while I waited for the doctor--so I took this outside the office while I waited to get my blood drawn (I had my glucose test at this appointment). I had never seen this type of bush before we moved to Nevada and they really do look a lot like a bottle brush.

This little guy would not take a nap today--even though we ran all over the place. I helped a friend run some major errands, then we went grocery shopping, we ate lunch, then moved some boxes and to top it all off we went swimming. I tried in between some of that to get him to take a nap, but he wouldn't. While I was in the kitchen cleaning up after dinner he just got out of his high chair and fell asleep on the couch. Getting him to bed is such a battle, so tonight was a nice break. Plus it was like 6:30 so I had the whole night to myself.

Save the Boobies!

Today Jared, Josh and I did the Vegas Race for the Cure. We decided not to take Devin because we had to wake up so stinking early and Josh's friends volunteered to watch him. The race has been a family tradition for us for the past three years. For those of you who might not know, Jared's mom passed away from breast cancer in 2003. It is hard to put in words what an amazing woman she was--I loved her and admired her and we all miss her so much. We run the race to remember and honor her. This was the first year we did it in Vegas. And even though the race took place right in the ghetto--past wedding chapels and naughty adult stores--we had a great time.

Before the race

I'm sorry, but I just had to. I mean, look at those eyebrows. Sooooo long.
There were so many people.
