Growing tummy

I have had many people ask me if I was showing yet, and as you can see, yes I am. I debated about whether sharing my pregnant pictures was cute or even acceptable the second time around? Especially since when I am pregnant my butt quadruples in size and I battle with my skin and breakouts (please, please don't click on the bottom will see what I mean about the skin). On a more positive note, I have been feeling the baby move for a few weeks and I absolutely love it. And we have an ultrasound scheduled for the 19th of March so I am excited for that as well.

It just makes me laugh when he falls asleep like this...

I wanted to introduce everyone to Lion, Devin's best friend (we could probably come up with a more original name). I got him from the DARE officer when I was teaching, and I almost threw it away, but I'm glad I didn't because Devin loves him. It is cute for us because Devin has never been attached to anything before, other than DVD' those count?

Our poor little _ltima

This weekend we went to visit Lynn--he lives in North Las Vegas and he is so great! (He is actually the one we are going to Hawaii with in a few weeks). But back to my story. We were sitting around talking, and we all heard a car putting on the breaks and then a loud bang. I knew as soon as I heard it, that someone had hit our car. And I was right. A little Mexican man hit us and felt really bad about it. He said that someone was coming at him in his lane, so he swerved over to avoid being hit, but then hit us instead. He was so apologetic and kept saying that it was his fault. We called the police and he wrote out a report and we exchanged insurance info (thankfully the guy that hit us had insurance). It was quite the gathering...I counted about 15 little Mexican kids standing around watching. And a few neighbors. And the missionaries. A little side note...Lynn is probably the only white guy in the entire area. He calls where he lives, "Little Tiajuania." Whenever we go there you can hear Mexican music playing everywhere and we always see the people selling corn dipped in Mayo and sprinkled with chili powder (Yes, just like in Nacho Libre). Anyways, I am glad that no one was hurt and our car is still drivable, although I can't get the trunk open and yesterday, as I was driving down the freeway, I noticed that the back lights were hanging on by just a few wires.

Nothing says White Trash more than duct tape on a car

Wax Museum

Jared and I (and our friends Allison and Darren) had some free wax museum tickets so we went this last weekend. We really don't go down to the strip very often, maybe about once a month, but there really are a lot of fun things that a little Mormon family can enjoy despite what you might think. I love the wax museum! I promise if you are ever in Vegas, this is a great way to kill an hour. It is very laid back and interactive. You can let your kids walk around and obviously you can take pictures and get right up to the wax figures. And it is one of the cheaper things to do, which is always a plus in my book .

Brave little Devin. When we went to Blue Man I kept thinking, "I wonder if Devin would like this?" I think this answers my question.
A very scandalous picture of Mr. Hefner, Allison and I.
Jared with J Lo (yes, my husband is a pervert)
Did you head that Brad and Angelina adopted another child? They figured Shiloh needed a white sibling what with all the other races they have.
We just took this picture to make Josh jealous. I wouldn't worry too much though Josh, she doesn't look too happy about it...

Devin and Beyonce. Anytime we took a picture of Devin he would get all serious and fold his arms. Later Jared told me that he kept telling him if he was good for the picture he would give him some candy. Devin will do anything for candy.
He doesn't talk about it, but President Bush is actually a huge BYU fan.
These were so funny...I almost bought them.

Family Pictures

Gotta love family pictures! Jared's cousin Jessica took these for us, and I think they turned out great! I only have these two right now, so I thought I would share.

One of my favorites, even though Devin isn't smiling or looking at the camera (and his hair looks a little like Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber)

I also really liked this one. They are both looking at the camera and smiling so I consider it a success.
Thanks a ton Jessica!!!

A visit from Josh

Josh came for a visit with his friend, which is always great!!! One of the nights we made our way to the strip and went into FAO Schwartz (an ermomous and expensive toy store). After exploring all three floors we found this fun piano. Me, stating the obvious, was like, " is just like the piano from Big." We figured out it took three people to play heart and soul (I think that is the name of that song)...and Josh, being the Renaissance man he is, was pretty darn good.

It seems like every time anyone comes to Vegas, we have to go the Bellagio. They have the conservatory, which they are constantly re-decorating, so we were excited to see the new theme. It was all Chinese New Year, and instead of taking pictures of Jared, Devin and I (I have about 20 picture of us in there) I took some "artsy" pictures of some of the flowers.

Right outside the conservatory, they have the most amazing chocolate fountain and this little gellato/pastry shop. The pastries are like $6 a piece, but when Josh is in town, we splurge...I have always thought this little number looked too pretty to eat, but we went with it this time. Let me tell you it was amazing!! It tasted even better than it looked. There were probably 11 different kinds of fruit and they all tasted perfect, like they were all in season. I would like to think that I could make something like this, with some practice, but who am I kidding?

One more thing, A big fat thanks to Josh and Kyle for watching Devin and our friend's son Vance while we went to Blue Man group. I am sure they were a hand full. So we owe you one!

A little catching up

I feel bad that I haven't posted any new pictures for such a long time, and our holidays were fantastic, so I thought I would share some of those pictures.

Our apartment complex had a cute little Christmas party so I went with a friend. I wasn't sure how Devin would react when placed on Santa's lap, because last year he freaked. Other than gnawing on his fingers the whole time, I think it was all good.

Like I said, Santa was much scarier last year...

Jared's law school buddies had a Christmas party where everyone had to come wearing their worst Christmas sweater. And they had a dirty mustache growing contest. Jared worked so hard to get a great mustache and even used some Just for Men to darken it up, but sadly he lost. Jared and I agree that not everyone can pull off a mustache (most guys look like child molesters or something). Anyways, we had a blast!

Devin with Grandpa

Jared letting Parker try his first root beer

Devin with the famous boot

Doughnut Making 2007.

This year Sean worked very hard (flour on the face always makes it looks like you have been slaving away in the kitchen right?)

Christmas morning--Every year gets more fun with Devin. He was excited about the stockings and opening presents.

Devin and Parker and their matching pajamas. Now we just need Josh to make Grandpa some so all three can match.

One of the days we went down to Seattle to ride the carousel and visit Pikes Place.

Harassing some pigeons

Baby #2

If you haven't figured it out already (aka the floating baby widget to the left) Jared and I expecting our second baby this summer. (Which is also why I have been ignoring my blog). Yep, I am due August 4th, which I know is the worst time to be pregnant especially when you live in Vegas, but we are so excited. I wasn't feeling pregnant until after Christmas and then it hit me. I was pretty sick and thankfully I had Jared as my slave. Really he did it all...the dishes, grocery shopping, cleaning, taking care of Devin. He is a great husband!! I have had good days and bad days--the good thing is that I am about over the morning sickness, which is amazing. With Devin I felt awful until I was about 20 weeks. To me, that is the worst thing about being pregnant...I can handle all of the other annoying symptoms.

(Not me...obviously. Jared took one picture of me like this last time I was pregnant when we were hiking in Moab and I think I had a long "talk" with Jared about why we don't take pictures of me when I am sick. Not a pretty picture and not something I want to remember)
